  • Working closely with the firm’s technical staff, administrative and accounting staff, and business development staff to accomplish the firm’s business development and marketing objectives.
  • Managing the day-to-day business development and marketing activities and staff of the firm.

Required Prerequisites:

  • Several years of marketing and business development experience in the architecture/engineering/construction or other professional services industry
  • A reputation as a good writer and experience writing project profiles and resumes
  • Experience leading/writing at least 20 proposal submissions to government or agency clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and QuarkXpress (or Indesign)
  • Ability to manipulate graphics with Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent software programs

Expectations:

Within the first six months you’ll be expected, with the help of mentoring, to:

  • Position our firm for opportunities
  • Make go/no go recommendations
  • Write cover letters, resumes, and project descriptions
  • Assist in pricing our services
  • Attend conferences and return with leads
  • Pitch our services to potential clients
  • Maintain relationships with contacts
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of our firm history and how we perform our work
  • Edit technical approaches to closely match proposal requirements
  • Develop a marketing plan and budget

Location and Travel:

You’ll need to live in or around Philadelphia. You’ll be required to travel by car, train, and plane to attend meetings, often on short notice. You’ll also be required to travel to local networking events in the evening.

The Marketing Manager works closely with senior leadership to manage the marketing and business development efforts for NBBJ’s commercial real estate practice. This role is responsible for developing and executing effective plans that support the practice’s growth strategy. The Marketing Manager develops and manages an annual marketing budget, tracks metrics, and orchestrates effective new business/prospect efforts. S/he will organize and implement targeted lead generation and client relationship programs, and manage thought leadership content and programs that underscores NBBJ’s brand positioning.

Your New Role:

  • Lead Generation & Client Relationships: In partnership with senior leaders, the Marketing Manager researches, identifies, and qualifies new leads – from both new and existing clients. S/he is responsible for helping to craft and ensure accuracy of an ongoing prospect list for targeted conversations and opportunities for engagement. S/he develops, manages, and leads a client loyalty program in partnership with NBBJ’s design studios.
  • Prospect & Point-of-Sale Strategies. The Marketing Manager leads teams that produce and generate well-coordinated and compelling new business efforts: qualification packages, proposals, and presentations, which address client needs and clearly articulates the fundamental design challenge and innovation opportunity. S/he is expected to be an active participant in developing new methods for engaging with prospective clients in an entrepreneurial way. S/he needs to understand and communicate NBBJ’s unique value proposition, and look for novel opportunities in order to build awareness of NBBJ’s service offerings.
  • Communication and Collaboration: The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating visibility and transparency in the sales pipeline and business development process among sales professionals.
  • Content Development and Quality Assurance: The Marketing Manager has a proven track record developing relevant content that supports sales strategies. S/he ensures that all proposals, qualification packages, presentations, and general marketing materials portray NBBJ’s brand as developed by the Communications team, producing best-in-class, and competitive marketing material.  
  • Design Discipline Empathy: The Marketing Manager is deeply immersed within a design culture made up of multiple disciplines, where the scoping of design projects and creation of learning opportunities for project teams is paramount. Because of this, an openness and desire to understand all the various aspects of design are critical, as is a commitment to dialogue with the broader NBBJ architect/designer community.
  • Managing Metrics: S/he meets cost, revenue, and sales goals within the practice.
  • Mentorship: S/he oversees, mentors, and guides marketing support staff and acts as an effective advocate for her/his team members. S/he is invested in the growth and development of her team.

What you will need to Succeed:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in leading marketing and business development programs for professional services/B2B companies
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience and an ability to mentor, inspire, and motivate business development and marketing staff
  • Undergraduate Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications; Graduate Degree in Real Estate business, Marketing or Communications a plus.
  • Experience in an operational or project-management role
  • Thorough understanding of executing demand generation and marketing programs
  • Ability to coach and teach design professionals about marketing best practices
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% in the U.S.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Create proposals and statements of qualifications, working in collaboration with technical staff, graphic designers, and marketing staff to write and edit content
• Corporate website maintenance
• Create and maintain staff resume of experience and qualifications, project sheets, advertisements, social media accounts, and other marketing materials (both print and electronic)

This position is one of two Marketing Specialists we are seeking to join the growing Marketing team at Felsburg Holt & Ullevig. This Marketing Specialist is a mid-level candidate who will be primarily focused on writing proposals, supporting the team’s business development activities, and other marketing communication materials. A successful marketer at FHU is creative and collaborative, adaptable in the face of deadlines, and possesses a positive, healthy work ethic. Prior experience in the AEC (Architect/Engineering/Construction) market desirable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create proposals and statements of qualifications, working in collaboration with technical staff, graphic designers, and marketers to write and edit content
  • Create and maintain staff resumes of experience and qualifications, project sheets, advertisements, and other marketing collateral (print and electronic)
  • Client Relationship Management (CRM) database entry and reporting
  • Establish and manage concurrent pursuit team schedules and meet deadlines
  • Assist with special projects or content development, including but not limited to: project interviews, conference preparation, company intranet/website, social media marketing, and award entries
  • Administrative support: filing, database updates (print and electronic)

REQUIRED EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or journalism preferred
  • 5+ years of proposal writing experience (A/E/C industry preferred)
  • Effective oral and written communicator
  • Highly adaptable in a creative and collaborative project team environment
  • Detail-oriented, strong schedule management skills
  • Required Software Skills: InDesign, Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Desired Software Skills: Deltek Vision, Photoshop, WordPress

Gedeon GRC Consulting, a fast growing engineering firm with offices in Syosset, NY, and Princeton, NJ, is seeking an accomplished Senior Marketing Coordinator professional with experience in the A/E/C industry to assist the marketing team in the implementation of all marketing activities, including but not limited to business development cycle, proposals, qualifications/certification packages, brochures, presentations, and database updates.

Qualified Coordinators will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating business development opportunities throughout the New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania markets and organize all phases to develop winning proposals.
  • Track, prepare and compile proposals as prime and/or sub-consultant from start to finsih in collaboration with the Maketing Director/team.
  • Write and format project and personnel experience profiles including qualifications sheets, certfications, registration submissions and workload disclusres for vaious agencies.
  • Plan, organize and prepare materials for comopany and conference events.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business and 8 years of A/E/C marketing experience.
  • Knowledge of marketing forms and proposals (i.e. RPFs, RFQs, EOIs, LOIs, SOQs, with required forms: SF 254, 255, and 330; other client/government forms; VENDEX; Pre-Qualifications, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of business writing sytle including grammar and punctuations with excellent oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented, with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple dealines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, self-motivated and proactive with good time management skills.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Indesign, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals with conflicting deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency writing, spelling and proofing text

Preferred additional background experience:

  • 2+ years experience in a management/supervisory role
  • Significant prior experience with an architecture, engineering or construction firm
  • Significant prior experience with an advertising agency
  • Prior experience with re-branding a company
  • Prior experience with web site design and maintenance
  • Prior experience with an SF330
  • Prior experience with designing advertisements, announcements, and other graphic materials for public relations
